Our Story

Anna Davydova School of Dance was founded in 2009. We are a young, dynamic but ambitious school in the middle of our community of Ealing and our main goal is to provide the best possible dance education for children, young adults and anyone else in the community – without the need for travel. Our classrooms are light, spacious and airy, and are inspirational places for our students.

Our school principal, Anna Davydova is BBO qualified, with 20 years of experience, and dance teaching degrees from Russia, Sweden and Spain. She is also insured and DBS (formerly CRB) checked. It has been Miss Anna’s joy, pleasure and privilege to teach ballet to thousands of students. She is an experienced teacher and former professional dancer.

Our Vision

Dance is for everyone! Our vision is to bring dance into the heart of our Ealing community, regardless of age or ability. We are keen to deliver our philosophy of excellence throughout all areas of life in our school, and we do this through fostering and nurturing relationships between students, parents, carers, teachers – as well as those who enjoy our public performances.

We love dance and aim to make our school a place of cheer, happiness and joy; a place where you can express yourself through movement and music. Our Ealing dance school seeks to encourage and bring out the best of all our attendees – our classes suit all ages and levels. To assist the learning journey and prepare students for their dance exams, we follow the bbodance syllabus.

Our Syllabus

We are fully conversant with the internationally recognised British Ballet Organization, bbodance syllabus. With a long and illustrious history in dance, they have devised a programme of study that focuses on technique, artistry and performance skills. We work within their comprehensive structure which is designed to encourage the enjoyment and learning of dance in students of all ages and abilities.

Supplementing the core syllabus, we also incorporate the Vaganova Method. This is a ballet technique and training system developed by the Russian teacher Agrippina Vaganova (1879–1951). Demanding the involvement of the whole body in every movement, with equal attention paid to the upper body, legs and feet, Vaganova believed it created a harmony of movement and greater expressive range.

Our Performances

Dance is all about performance. We want to make studying in school and performing on stage one of the most vivid and beautiful memories in the life of your child. Dance gifts you with physical endurance and helps mental concentration; it also builds internal spirituality and improves your child’s self-awareness and confidence. It also introduces young people to different types of music, something which will stay with them forever.

To our knowledge we are the only school in London which offers two regular fully costumed student shows per year. These provide a taste of show business life in professional venues, with proper stage, lights and decorations. This gives the students the real excitement of performing in front of hundreds of people.

Our Classes

According to parents and children we are one of the best, most inclusive dance schools in the area. Details of all classes are on the website.

We accept children into the Tiny Tots Ballet from the age of three. We include pre-primary, primary, and ballet Grades 1-3. We also offer contemporary dance, as well as an exciting dance mix of jazz, afro jazz, street, and hip hop.

Because of our vision of dance for all, we offer Zumba, Flamenco and Ballet (beginner and improvers) for adults. This enables our entire community to experience the joy and passion of music, dance and movement – as well as the social aspect of having fun and meeting people.

The main venue is St Andrews Church on Mount Park Road, W5 2RS.
